On February 3, 2026, Dr. Carl Yonker, senior researcher and project manager of the Center, participated in an international roundtable on the fight against antisemitism. Hosted by the Embassy of Israel in Canada, the roundtable brought together senior Canadian government officials, international experts on antisemitism from Israel, Germany, the United Kingdom, and France, diplomats, and senior representatives of Canadian Jewish organizations. In his remarks, Dr. Yonker addressed global trends in antisemitism worldwide since October 7, 2023, emphasizing the impacts on Jewish communities and that threats against Jews and Jewish communities also threaten democratic values, social cohesion, and the rule of law.

During his trip, Dr. Yonker, together with experts from the UK and Germany, met with ranking Canadian government officials, including Senate Opposition Leader Senator Leo Housakos; Justice Committee Chair MP James Maloney; Justice Committee Deputy Chair MP Anthony Housefather; Canadian Heritage Committee Chair Lisa Hepfner; and MP Zoe Royer. He was also hosted by the Macdonald-Laurier Institute (MLI) for a discussion on antisemitism and challenges to Jewish life in Canada and Western democracies, moderated by MLI Senior Fellow Alan Kessel and attended by MLI Fellows, professors and researchers.
