France, the Jews, and the Presidential Elections
The race for next year’s April 2022 presidential elections in France is heating up. Until now, most opinion polls have shown President Emmanuel Macron leading the first round and then winning a second-round run-off election to get a second mandate, but his challengers appear to be reducing his lead. On December 21, 2021, the Center held a Zoom seminar exploring the upcoming presidential elections and the views of the French Jewish community on the candidates and the main political issues of concern.
The conference featured discussions with Prof. Joav Toker, a leading journalist and political commentator, Dr. Emmanuel Navon, a well-known political scientist and foreign policy analyst, and Prof. Shmuel Trigano, a respected sociologist and philosopher.
